Networkers, Working to End Malaria

Malaria is a disease caused by mosquito-borne parasites. In the undeveloped world, more than 500 million people are stricken with this disease annually. Malaria is responsible for over two million deaths each year. It kills one child every 30 seconds.

The NetWorkers Malaria Prevention Program was developed by International Health Ministries in response to the tragic human toll of this disease. For poor people living in often remote rural areas of Africa and Asia, preventing malaria is the key to protecting their health. Led by the Presbyterian Women groups, congregations in the United States support the NetWorkers projects by helping to purchase nets, insecticide and educational materials, and by sewing mosquito nets from kits.  (Text from Presbyterian Women PCUSA)
